Checkers has lied with their logo. Crazy Good Food should be changed too Crazy Mediocre Food. The pairing of mediocre food and being absolutely forgettable lands Checkers at the bottom of the list, barely hanging on and making it over chains like White Castle.
18. Arby’s
Arby’s has the meats, good for them. I have never met a person who has asked me to go to Arby’s. Arby’s is a chain that is very forgettable and rightfully so, because so is their food. Arby’s almost didn’t even make this list for me, but they got lucky that there are worse places eat.
17. Dairy Queen
Dairy Queen makes this list simply because of its ice cream products. I for the love of me, cannot even remember what actual food they sell. This is a problem for me because I’m not going to eat ice cream for dinner unless I am having an existential crisis.
16. McDonald’s
I’m sure you’re wondering, how is McDonald’s the king of fast food in 16th place on this list? Well the reality is, McDonald’s has never been a craving for me, in fact they have given me so much indigestion that it’s borderline a hate crime. Not to mention, their forever broken ice cream machine doesn’t help. They are going to have to seriously shape up if they want to be up higher on this list
15. Chipotle
Chipotle has always been a mediocre establishment too me. I much prefer Qdoba. I feel as though they don’t season their food well enough and it just leaves their food tasting a bit bland to me. Their E. Coli breakout doesn’t help their case either.
14. Domino’s
I’ve always been more so indifferent about Domino’s. Their food isn’t bad, but I’ve never really found myself craving their food. I’ve also never been excited about someone ordering Domino’s. They are a chain that I’ll eat if I have too but probably wouldn’t be my first choice.
13. Five Guys
Growing up I always thought that at Five Guys, five men would serve me five burgers and five individual fries. In an unforeseen turn of events, I was mistaken. So naturally I had to shun them for false advertisement. I will admit that they have decent food. I think that their fries are over salted, but their burgers aren’t half bad.
12. KFC
KFC is a restaurant that I was sort of just forced to eat growing up. My parents used to buy a tub of chicken and bring it to the beach and by the time we ate it, it was really soggy and just repulsive. This has scarred me ever since I was a child. I will admit that they have lovely chicken sandwiches, which is enough to even put KFC on this list.
11. Subway
Subway is in a category of its own really, with it’s only real competition being Firehouse Subs. I’ve always enjoyed a good sandwich from Subway, but their $5 for a foot long campaign, not actually being $5 has always left a sour taste in my mouth.
10. Pizza Hut
Pizza Hut is the superior pizza fast food chain and I shall not here otherwise. Pizza fast food chains are often overshadowed anyways, so a 10th place ranking isn’t super impressive but it’s the highest ranking pizza chain. Pizza Hut triggers happy nostalgic memories of completing a book report and then getting a little free pizza certificate.
9. Taco Bell
Taco Bell is the fast food taco option for us. It is that food fast restaurant that you get random cravings for at random times. They’re food isn’t that great but something about them keeps making me come back.
8. Sonic
Sonic doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. I would most compare it to Dairy Queen because both are most known for their shakes and ice cream products, but what gives Sonic the edge over Dairy Queen and why it’s so much higher on the list is that I can actually remember what food they sell and I actually enjoy their food.
7. Dunkin Donuts
Dunkin Donuts has never failed me. Who doesn’t love a good doughnut? Going on a Dunkin run is a saying trademarked by many. You can never go wrong with Dunkin.
6. Qdoba
Not many people have heard of Qdoba, but they deserve some recognition which is why they are 6th place on the list. I believe Qdoba to be superior to Chipotle and Moe’s, which they are often overshadowed by. The taste of their food is overall much more refined too me and they don’t charge for queso unlike Chipotle.
5. Burger King
Ever since I was a child, Burger King was my favorite fast food chain. The whopper is their staple icon. But since maybe 2013, Burger King has sort of been going downhill for me. It all started when they changed their chicken nugget recipe as well as changing the shape from crowns to regular looking nuggets. This was definitely a bad move on Burger King and deeply saddens me as they were once the true king in my eyes. I can only hope that they can return to their old ways, or else I fear that they’ll move further down this list in the near future.
4. Panera Bread
Panera has always been a chain that I feel many forget when thinking of fast food chains, so it’s only fair that I give it the recognition it deserves by awarding it 4th place. Because it focuses more on healthy products, Panera is often overlooked. However, the versatility of its food is what makes it work. From the soup, to the salads, to the sandwiches, and to the bread, Panera has a bit of it all.
3. Popeyes
Popeye’s being in third may be a surprise, but you gotta admit that you as the saying goes, “Love that chicken from Popeyes!” Their chicken is very good and they’re sides such as the mashed potatoes are more than enough to skyrocket this fast food chain this high up the list.
2. Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-a has the best chicken product I’ve ever tasted, their waffle fries are to die for, and they’re iconic lemonade make for quite a meal. The recent addition of mac & cheese also really helps their case. There isn’t a bad thing you can order from them, but they’re in the number 2 position. Chick-fil-A’s long reputation of being against the LGBT community is a big enough reason for me to not award them the number one spot and have to settle for the dreaded 2nd place. Do better Chick-fil-A, it’s 2019.
1. Wendy’s
Wendy’s takes the top spot on this list. They’re burger is the best fast food burger I’ve eaten and if you’re not a burger person, they’re chicken products are very tasty as well. I haven’t had something I didn’t like from Wendy’s before. Aside from their food, their social media presence is more than enough to put Wendy’s at number one on the fast food chain list.
